The Tablas Creek Vineyard 2024 Cinsaut is our fourth varietal bottling of this rare Châteauneuf-du-Pape grape, propagated from budwood cuttings from the Château de Beaucastel estate. Cinsaut is the fourth-most-planted grape in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, after Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. On its own it is valued for its juicy liveliness, its red fruit, its relatively gentle tannins, and its low alcohol.
Tasting Notes
A juicy, luscious nose of raspberries and cream, candied violets, and black tea. In the mouth, flavors of red plum and crushed rock, garrigue and sweet spice. Delicious.

Production Notes
We expect, in the long term, to use Cinsaut in many of our red and rosé blends. But it is also capable of making a delicious varietal wine, showcasing its lively fruit, spice and acidity.
The 2024 vintage began with our second consecutive wet winter, giving the vines good reserves for the growing season. After a normal budbreak and a cool first half of the summer, those reserves were tested by our warmest-ever July and above-average temperatures through October. That led to a compressed harvest that was largely done by the second week of October and yields roughly 20% below our long-term averages. The low yields and warm year combined to produce fruit with intense flavors and noteworthy vibrancy.
Our Cinsaut grapes were grown on our Regenerative Organic Certified™ and biodynamic estate vineyard.
The barrels were racked and blended in June 2025, then aged in neutral oak before being bottled under screwcap in February 2026.
