2022 Patelin Blanc in The Times

The Times: The 50 best red wines for winter

We were happy to see our 2022 Patelin de Tablas make the UK publication The Times' list of 50 best wines for winter. From their review:

California’s answer to Châteauneuf du Pape... It’s syrah-led so what you get is a rich, hearty, spiced summer pudding sip that’s a whizz with game and strong cheeses.

Vinous #18 Wine in the World 2024

Vinous Top 100: 2021 Esprit de Tablas is #18 Wine in the World

We're honored to have our 2021 Esprit de Tablas rated as 2024's #18 wine in the world by Vinous! From Reviewer Eric Guido's tasting notes:

Qualities such as purity, refinement, grace and poise aren't often associated with the wines of Paso Robles, a region built of power and depth of fruit. That is of course, until Tablas Creek arrived on the scene. The Esprit de Tablas is a Rhone-focused blend that could only be created in Paso, mixing Mourvèdre with Grenache, Syrah, Counoise, Vaccarese and Cinsault. It’s a wine of patience, fully enjoyable upon release yet truly worth waiting for. It will make a believer of any Paso Robles naysayer.

Decanter: Six Tablas Creek wines receive up to 95 points!

We were excited to see reviewer Clive Purshouse's reviews of Tablas Creek wines. All six wines received over 90 points, including 94 points for our 2022 Esprit de Tablas and 95 points for our 2022 Syrah. Our favorite of his favorable reviews comes from his commentary on the 2022 Mourvedre:

It's almost mind-blowing that Jason Haas and the team at Tablas Creek have crafted a 12.5 Mourvèdre in Paso. This is a crunchy, red-fruited wine with floral elegance. I'm smitten by its fresh character and finesse: gorgeous floral aromatics, salty sea air and piquant notes of blood orange. The allure continues on the palate, fresh and a touch sauvage with wild bramble fruits, raspberry leaf, tart cranberry and a finish of sweet cherry. More of this, please!

Passport in Photos visits Tablas Creek

48 Perfect Hours in Paso Robles: California’s Central Coast Wine Region

We were thrilled to see Tablas Creek play a major role in Travel Blogger, Karen Gomez's piece on Paso Robles.

After a packed day one, she started day two at Tablas Creek. She had to say:

“A highlight of the weekend was the morning we spent at Tablas Creek Vineyard. One of Paso Robles’ best-kept secrets is Tablas Creek’s vineyard tour and tasting... an unbeatable experience if you’re a wine lover and sustainability enthusiast.”

The rest of the piece is filled with good advice on visits, places to eat and shop, and how to navigate coming in from out of the area. We’ll leave you with her overview of the region:

“Paso Robles stuns with its rolling hills, expansive vineyards, and occasional wild animal spotting. Many of the area’s wineries are earth-minded, embracing sustainable practices to protect its unique environment. Add in the region’s authentic charm and friendly, down-to-earth vibe, and you’ll wonder why you hadn’t visited sooner - I definitely did.”

Owen Bargreen Reviews of Tablas Creek 10 17

Owen Bargreen: "the beautiful new fall release wines by Tablas Creek"

We were excited to read Owen Bargreen's new reviews of six of our newest releases. All received between 91 and 95 points. From his introduction:

"The wines have been a pillar of consistency and I had a great visit with their CEO Jason Haas earlier in the year. We uncorked many older vintages of the ‘Espirit de Tablas’ and the aging potential of these wines was simply magical. The new wine, the 2022 Tablas Creek ‘Espirit de Tablas’ Red Wine (OB, 95) is a remarkable achievement in this vintage that saw heat spikes at harvest. "
