The 2023 Viognier is our fourteenth bottling of the Rhone's best-known white grape. The Viognier grape, known more from the northern Rhone than the area around Chateauneuf-du-Pape, shined in 2023, adding vibrant acids to its typical lush, floral, stone fruit profile.
Tasting Notes
A bright, arresting nose of grilled lemon, coriander seed, citrus blossom, and ginger. The palate is fresh with flavors of pineapple and white pepper, salted nectarine and sweetgrass. Rich texture is balanced by excellent acids and a pure, elegant finish. Drink now and for at least the next five years.

Production Notes
Our Viognier grapes were grown on our Regenerative Organic Certified™ and biodynamic estate vineyard.
The 2023 vintage began with our wettest-ever winter, replenishing ground water and delaying budbreak. It continued with our coolest growing season in more than a decade, which combined with the late start to produce a harvest roughly a month later than most recent years, beginning in mid-September and not concluding until mid-November. Warm, sunny weather starting in October allowed the later-ripening varieties to reach full maturity. The exceptionally long hangtime and gradual ripening combined to produce fruit with deep colors, remarkable intensity, and noteworthy vibrancy. We believe 2023 has all the hallmarks of a blockbuster year.
The Viognier grapes were whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks using native yeasts. The lots were blended in April 2024, settled, and bottled in June.
