  • The Panoplie Blanc is made from the top 3% of our white lots and anchored by Roussanne, the famously ageworthy white grape that forms the core of Beaucastel’s stellar white wines.

In 2025, we identified three lots of Roussanne (making up 74% of the blend), two lots of Grenache Blanc (20%), and one of Picpoul Blanc (6%) that we thought had the requisite character and intensity. All three were from some of the oldest vines on the property. The resulting wine is powerful but lovely, very Roussanne in character, and should be outstanding to drink any time over the next 20-25 years.

Available to order through December 6th on the futures cart page.

    Tasting Notes

A luscious nose of honey, baking spices, crushed rock, candied almond, and a little kiss of sweet oak. The mouth is rich and dense with powerful vanilla custard, honeycomb, and key lime flavors, then a line of acid turns the wine bright on the finish that contains notes of lemon bar and salted butter.

    Production Notes

The 2024-25 winter began dry but finished wet, with two-thirds of the winter's precipitation coming in February and March. That late rain delayed budbreak and allowed us to dodge any spring frosts. The summer was warm but rarely hot, with the fewest 100° days in our history. Harvest began at a normal time frame but cool temperatures in September and October slowed down harvest. We navigated two early rain events without damage and finished an extended but unhurried harvest in early November. The exceptionally long hang time and gradual ripening combined to produce fruit with deep colors, remarkable intensity, and noteworthy vibrancy. We believe 2025 has all the hallmarks of a blockbuster year.

The grapes for our Panoplie Blanc were grown on our biodynamic and Regenerative Organic Certified estate vineyard.

The fruit was whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeasts. The Roussanne component was fermented in 60-gallon and 132-gallon oak barrels, about 20% new. The Grenache Blanc was fermented in neutral 1200-gallon foudre, and the Picpoul Blanc was fermented in neutral acacia wood. All the wines went through malolactic fermentation. The Panoplie Blanc was selected from the top 3% of the vintage's lots, blended, and returned to foudre in April 2026. It will age an additional 8 months in foudre until its bottling in December 2026.
